Finally found it: Phildar. I thought it was just one of my mom's "when-I-was-your-age" thing, but I have to admit, I love it. Since I started knitting (so it's about 3 years now) she has been telling me how amazing Phildar magazines and wool were (she still has them somewhere, the magazines I mean, at my grandma's place), and how sad it is that they are no longer available in shops in Italy (at least where we usually go shopping for yarn)... So, I was looking for a pattern on Ravelry when I stumbled upon the pattern page of a magazine by Phildar, this famous french brand I've heard so much about. I casually said "Look, how nice is this sweater pattern from Phildar?" and... oh, she went crazy!
We browsed together all the magazines (you can find the magazines here on the Phildar website and all the pattern pages here on Ravelry) and we couldn't help but saying "Love it! I wanna knit this... and this... and this too!", it was one of those special mother-daughter moments when me and my mom like the same thing.
"Where can we buy these magazines?" she asked. Then I decided to give me and my mom a birthday/mother's day present in advance and bought four magazines (two of them were 0,99 € only!!!). Now they are on their way to Italy, and we can't wait to keep our hands on the pattern and start knitting winter pullovers, wool jackets, sweaters... which is a paradox, since we're basically in summer with 30°C outside!
Only one (negative) thing: my mom is disappointed that the magazines are in Frech. Well, it's like saying that starting today Paris will change its name with something more italian. Of course they are in French, but hey, I didn't studied French for 6 years for nothing, did I?

Finalmente l'ho trovata: Phildar. Pensavo che fosse una di quelle cose in stile "quando avevo la tua età" che mia mamma dice spesso, ma stavolta devo proprio darle ragione perché l'adoro. E' da quando ho iniziato a sferruzzare che mia mamma mi racconta di quanto favolose fossero le lane e le riviste di schemi della Phildar (deve averne ancora qualcuna da qualche parte a casa di mia nonna... le riviste intendo!), e che peccato sia che non siano più disponibili in Italia (o almeno non nei negozi che frequentiamo noi). L'altro giorno stavo guardando un pò di modelli su Ravelry quando sono capitata per caso sulla pagina di una rivista Phildar, la famosa Phildar, e ho buttato lì un "ma guarda che bello questo schema della Phildar!". Neanche a dirlo... è impazzita!
Abbiamo sfogliato insieme tutte le riviste (disponibili sul sito della Phildar qui e su Ravelry qui) ed è stato un continuo "guarda che bello! Lo voglio fare! Anche questo... e questo... e pure questo!", uno di quei rari momenti madre-figlia nel quale siamo entrambe d'accordo su qualcosa.
"Dove si comprano queste riviste?" e allora è scattato l'ordine, un regalo anticipato per il mio compleanno e la festa della mamma (pensare che due riviste costano solo 99 centesimi!). Ora aspettiamo che arrivino dalla Francia, non vediamo l'ora di iniziare a sferruzzare pullover, giacche e maglie di lana... il che lo trovo un po' paradossale visto che fuori ci sono 30°, ma dati i miei tempi è meglio giocare d'anticipo!
Una cosa negativa secondo mia mamma: le riviste sono in francese. Beh, è come dire che da oggi di punto in bianco i francesi smettono di parlare francese e iniziano a parlare l'italiano ("finalmente", direbbe lei). Certo che sono in francese mamma cara, ma io non ho passato 6 anni della mia vita a studiare questa lingua per niente, no?
